Support my CookOff to feed people in need.
Hennie du Plooy is the Chief Executive Officer of Port Waratah Coal Services, Australia’s largest coal export terminal, a role he has held since 2011. Port Waratah responsibly manages receiving, stockpiling, blending, and loading Hunter Valley coal for export. With a background in engineering and more than three decades of leadership experience across the resources, mining and logistics sectors, Hennie is a passionate advocate for operational excellence, community partnerships and regional economic development. He has been a longstanding contributor to the Hunter region through various business and community leadership roles and is committed to supporting organisations that make a positive difference locally, just like OzHarvest.
Under Hennie’s leadership, Port Waratah has continued its longstanding commitment to the Hunter community, including a partnership with OzHarvest that has spanned more than 16 years. Through Port Waratah’s Community Investment and Partnership Programme, we are proud to invest $850,000 in the local community each year. With Port Waratah hosted in Newcastle and Hennie and most employees living locally, the organisation is committed to supporting local organisations, charities and projects that address areas of need in our community.
Hennie is proud to participate in the OzHarvest CEO Cook Off, joining fellow leaders in supporting OzHarvest’s mission to combat food insecurity, reduce food waste and strengthen communities through the power of good food and meaningful connection.
