Matt Walshe has been part of the Canberra Southern Cross Club for more than three decades, beginning his journey as an 18-year-old before working his way through the organisation to become Chief Executive Officer. His career is built on hard work, loyalty and a genuine commitment to serving the Canberra community.

Growing up as one of nine children, Matt learned early the importance of pitching in and helping others. Those values continue to shape his leadership today, with a strong focus on ensuring the Club gives back to the community it serves.

Under Matt's leadership, the Canberra Southern Cross Club has invested millions of dollars into community initiatives, supporting local charities, grassroots sporting clubs, arts and cultural organisations, and programs that help reduce social isolation and strengthen community connections.

Matt is passionate about partnerships that create real impact, making the OzHarvest CEO CookOff a cause close to his heart. He believes that access to nutritious food should never be a barrier for anyone and is proud to support OzHarvest's work in rescuing food, reducing waste and helping people in need across the Canberra region.
