Professor Michaela Lucas

Professor Michaela Lucas is a clinical immunologist, allergist and clinician-scientist working across Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, PathWest, Perth Children's Hospital and the University of Western Australia, where she leads the Immunology and Transplantation Lab.

A WA Women's Hall of Fame inductee, Michaela is one of the country's leading voices in clinical immunology and allergy. She's Director of the National Allergy Council and Co-Chair of the Drug Allergy Stream for the National Allergy Centre of Excellence.

Michaela is also the Principal Investigator behind the PERTH Trial — a world-first study into how everyday plastic chemicals like BPA and phthalates affect our health. Her research showed that swapping to low-plastic food, kitchenware and packaging for just seven days measurably cut the level of these chemicals in the body — a finding that started, quite literally, in the kitchen.

Michaela is a self-confessed foodie who believes good food is about more than what's on the plate — it's about what it's made with, how it's handled, and who it reaches. That belief is exactly why she's cooking up a storm for CEO CookOff, turning rescued food into meals that do good on every level.
