Support my CookOff to feed people in need.
As Chief Executive Officer of TAFE Queensland, Tim Rawlings is passionate about creating opportunities for Queenslanders through education, skills, and training.
Leading one of Australia's largest training providers, Tim is focused on helping people gain the practical skills they need to build rewarding careers, strengthen communities, and meet the workforce needs of the future.
TAFE Queensland and OzHarvest share a commitment to creating positive social impact through education, sustainability, and community connection. Through the training of future chefs and hospitality professionals, inspiring students to contribute to more sustainable food systems, and supporting initiatives that reduce food waste and provide food relief to those in need, both organisations recognise the important role that skills, knowledge, and community action play in creating lasting change. This partnership extends beyond shared values, with TAFE Queensland and OzHarvest working closely together, including on the Sunshine Coast where TAFE Queensland’s commercial teaching kitchens are used for OzHarvest’s Cooking for a Cause classes.
While Tim will be the first to admit his culinary skills are still very much a work in progress, he's keen to step out of the boardroom and into the kitchen for a great cause. Taking part in the CEO CookOA is an opportunity to support OzHarvest's vital work, connect with fellow leaders, and contribute to helping Australians experiencing food insecurity.
His recipe for success? A willingness to learn, a good sense of humour, and knowing when to ask the experts for help.
