Participating in the CEO Cookoff on behalf of Moelis Australia are our joint CEOs, Julian Biggins and Chris Wyke.
Julian and Chris were both co-founders of Moelis Australia in 2009.
Although Julian will be a first-time participant in the Cookoff, he is no stranger to the work OzHarvest do. OzHarvest is one of the primary food suppliers to the St Vincent Food Truck, a service which Julian is an active member of, providing food and social engagement with Sydney’s less fortunate and homeless.
Speaking about the CEO Cookoff, Julian said, “I’m delighted to be involved in this event – it’s a really great cause. I’m also looking forward to getting back into the kitchen. I do enjoy cooking a slow cooked lamb or beef lasagne, which also gains some resistance at home because my wife is practically vegan.”
Chris sits on the Board of the Moelis Australia Foundation and through that has led a team of corporate advisors on pro bono professional services.
“This will be my first time working with OzHarvest and I’m excited to be part of such a worthwhile initiative”, Chris said.
Contemplating cooking for hundreds of Australians, under the guidance of Australia’s best Masterchefs, he said, “At home I am no master and I am no chef, so this will be a privilege and learning experience for me.”
Moelis Australia is an ASX-listed financial services group specialising in asset management, corporate advisory and equities.
In 2017, the Moelis Australia Foundation was established to provide a way for our staff to support various charities and community initiatives that they are passionate about.
The current Foundation activities focus on giving to staff-nominated charities and community causes, developing long-term community partnerships and providing pro-bono professional services.
Since 2017, staff have donated over $6 million to the Foundation and Moelis Australia has also contributed more than $600,000 to the Foundation.
