This year, I'm proud to once again be taking part in the CEO CookOff, raising funds to support the incredible work of OzHarvest in helping people experiencing food insecurity across Australia.

What stayed with me most from last year's experience wasn't just the challenge of creating a meal from rescued food. It was the opportunity to sit down, share that meal, and connect with the very people whose lives are touched by OzHarvest's work every day.

In hospitality, we know that food brings people together. But this experience reminded me that a meal is never just a meal. It can provide dignity, connection, conversation, comfort, and hope when it's needed most.

Listening to people's stories, learning about different life journeys, and seeing firsthand the impact of community support was both humbling and inspiring. It reinforced how important it is to ensure good food doesn't go to waste, and how each of us can play a part in helping those doing it tough.

As cost of living pressures continue to affect more Australians, the work OzHarvest does has never been more important.

P.S. Last year's CEO CookOff changed my perspective. It reminded me that some of the most meaningful conversations happen around a shared meal, and that caring for our communities starts with seeing people, hearing their stories, and taking action where we can. 💛
